Each country requires an official language certification proving your proficiency in the language of instruction.

French universities require proof of your language level before accepting your application through Campus France.
Programs taught in French: #
- Accepted tests: TCF, DELF B2, DALF C1.
- Minimum level required: B2 for Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, C1 recommended for selective fields (medicine, law, engineering, political science…).
Programs taught in English: #
- Accepted tests: IELTS Academic (6.0 to 6.5) or TOEFL iBT (80 to 95 depending on the institution).

🇩🇪 Germany – Programs in German or English #
In Germany, language proficiency is a key admission criterion, especially via Uni-Assist.
Programs taught in German: #

- TestDaF (minimum level 4 in each module)
- DSH-2 or DSH-3
- Goethe-Zertifikat B2 / C1
- telc Deutsch B2 / C1 Hochschule
- Minimum level required:

American institutions require a language proficiency test before issuing the I-20 Form needed for the F-1 visa.
Recognized tests: #
- TOEFL iBT: scores typically range between 80 and 100 depending on the university.
- IELTS Academic: scores between 6.0 and 7.0.
- Some universities now accept the Duolingo English Test (DET) with a minimum score of 110.
